Using a combination of the client’s current database structure and Google’s robust map application, we pulled their current parking information into a usable format that allows downtown visitors and business to easily see their options. The site was built with PHP, MySQL, Ajax, XML and Google’s Maps API. Total production time was ~90 days and the site generated news coverage on all four evening news shows in Nashville.
I love it when my public relations guru and wife out-geeks me and now WordPress is another of our shared obsessions. She’s gone off the deep end though for the statistical analysis of visitors and how different content can have different effects on her traffic. Also, it’s fun for both if us to see how people get to our sites and what kind of technology they’re using. Anyway, people have all different kinds of reasons to want to look at the stats on their site so I’m just going to suggest a few of the tools/plugins I’ve tried.
- Statpress Reloaded: It integrates well with WP and gives live results. It also has a neato “spy” feature so you can see where people came from and where they live – if you like that kinda thing.
- Statzen: Very nice, clean tool built by our friend from right here in Nashvegas, Jackson Miller. Very well done and Margie swears by it.
- Google Analytics: Tried and true. You still have to go to the Analytics site to check on results though but DAMN! Printable 20 page reports will have your clients thinking you’re an Excel wiz.
These are all plugins for WordPress so I’m sorry if I’ve left you out. I do know that Google Analytics is pretty much universal and if you need a hand getting it installed, just give me a shout and we’ll set it up for you :)
On winning a spot in the PR News’ 15 to Watch. I already knew you were the best ever but now there are big name folks agreeing with me :)

We’d like to announce our newest client site launch: Trash The Bottle Bill (dot com). We worked with some of our favorite public relations folks to put this together and hope you find some useful information there about the upcoming proposed legislation facing Tennessee lawmakers. This is your chance to either “get with whoever you need to get with” or just “get yourself better knowledged.”

My wife and I had a front row seat for most of the storm last night as it passed thorugh Nashville. I know we weren’t the only ones and we wish a speedy recovery and lots of good fortune to those who suffered during last night’s weather.
